RG isn't shy about our love for wine. Here's our tried and true, top ten favorites that are all $10 or less. Hopefully they help get you through this holiday season and will leave your guests thinking you bought the most expensive bottle in the store!
What does an aerator do? And should I own one?
Wineenthusiast.com defines a wine aerator as "expanding the surface area of wine, allowing air to mingle with it - the result is a wine with an expanded aromatic profile and/or softer tannins." All this really means is it makes your wine taste just a little bit better...especially when buying a cheaper bottle. I wasn't a believer until I tried one myself. As much as I love wine, I refuse to spend even a quarter of my grocery budget on it, so this is when an aerator helps. Buy one and see for yourself. It really does work!
The 5 minute appetizer that pairs perfectly with your wine!
Need a quick, easy appetizer? While you’re at Trader Joe’s picking up your two buck chuck make a quick pit stop by the spaghetti sauce and grab a jar of bruschetta for only $2.49.
Trader Joe's Bruschetta ||
- Slice a loaf of french bread on an angle
Lightly brush each individual piece of bread with olive oil (or garlic olive oil is good too)
Place bread slices on cookie sheet and place in oven under broiler until golden brown (only two - three minutes, watch because they burn quickly)
Spoon bruschetta on top of each slice of bread
- Place bread covered with bruschetta back under broiler for a minute or two so bruschetta is warm
