One of my favorite things about the seasons changing is shopping for new clothes. Whether it be searching for the perfect sweater in September or a maxi dress that fits just right in May, I love it! Unfortunately, this year I'm trying to be extra conscious of my budget. I would like to buy a house one day and paying off my car would be nice too (adult probs...you don't have to tell me). So I was on a mission to utilize the clothes I have. Let’s be honest I have plenty of clothes, I just needed to get creative. After scrolling through Instagram one day I stumbled across this photo from Patterns & Pops. My jaw dropped. I am obsessed with one piece anything - overalls, jumpsuits, rompers etc. so when I saw this romper with tights I was ecstatic. Why I never thought of this is beyond me. In this moment my eyes were opened to a whole new world!
This is one of my favorite rompers and let me tell you I was wearing this years ago when everyone was looking at me with crazy eyes saying they could never pull a romper off. It's stood the test of time for sure. Add a colored cardigan for a pop of color, throw in tights and boots for a little funk and wha la summer meets fall.
My second outfit inspiration came from a Denver Style Magazine event I went to this last summer. I got an amazing snake skin jumpsuit (told you I was obsessed) that will be making it's debut at LC's bachelorette party this spring. Can you tell I'm excited?! Anyways, when trying it on Heather (DSM Editor) told me I should rock it in winter with a turtleneck underneath. DUH! LC will be showing the turtleneck and jumpsuit look on RG here soon. In the meantime, I was inspired to get a shirt I could layer under some of my favorite tanks and take these babies into the colder months. I have quite a few tank tops, muscle tanks, boyfriend tanks you name it. I only needed one tight, long sleeve back shirt to create some bomb new outfits. I found the black shirt I was looking for at Forever 21 for $6.90, it's going to be mostly hidden besides the arms so you don't need anything fancy. This one is warm, soft and tight. Everything I was looking for.
This white tiger muscle tank from Express is truly one of my better sale finds and now I can wear it all year long. Who knew for under $10, the cost of my tights and long sleeve shirt, I have exponentially expanded my wardrobe. Add in a longer skirt since it's a bit chilly and this lady is ready to rock and roll.
Now what are you waiting for?! Do some digging, get creative, and try some new outfit combos today.
We can't stop re-creating new pieces now that we've gotten started!
