One of the things Cat and I have always had in common is we both do a lot of things pretty big. We both have a big, loud laugh that transfers into a somewhat big personality. A personality where we aren’t afraid to give our opinion, speak the truth and are definitely never afraid to get a little crazy. Also, let’s be honest, we’d never shy away from an extra tease or two in order to get our hair just a tad bit higher.
We also live out a go big or go home mantra in life. The day this blog was born was a phone call from Cat basically saying. “I wanna start a blog and I think you should do it with me.” It was pretty much without hesitation that I said yes. That in a nutshell is just how we are. We’re never afraid to jump in and tackle something, even if it seems bigger than us. Call it naive, call it crazy, whatever it is we’ve got it and we think everyone could use just a little bit more of that in their life.
I’m a lover of routine, but sometimes our normal day to day life can become cumbersome and mundane. This is when, just like my flares, it’s never a bad thing to go big, break out of a routine and try something new! Whether it’s a big dream you’ve had for awhile or something as simple as changing up your wardrobe staples, I’m here to say, “Do it!” Maybe you’re one of those people who have a hard time jumping all in, or you second guess every decision you make. I’d challenge you, just this one time to not overthink it and do it.
I fell in love with these flares off an Express clearance rack, but almost left the store without them thanks, or more like no thanks, to my budget. Nathan loved them more than I did and when he saw my hesitation the boy walked them straight up to the cashier and bought them for me. Now if you were ever wondering why I’m marrying the guy, now you know! Can we say keeper?! I’m so thankful he didn’t let me leave them behind because when I wear them, those large and in charge flares remind me that life isn’t always meant to be lived in small, quiet corners. Some of the best moments in life come from jumping in and tackling something BIG. So, have a little faith and go big or go home with something new in your life!
We get it, sometimes it’s hard to make the leap. Here are a few pointers on getting started with your flares.
Flares are versatile and can be dressed down with a concert tee or dressed up with a flowy boho style shirt. Make them fit your own unique style, you can truly go any direction with these babies.
Flares got you feeling a little out there? Like we said we’re more of the bold fashion type but if you’re needing to feel safe tame down your look with a classic black or white v-neck tee. This will have you testing the waters but not feeling too wild.
No matter your style you can make flares work for you. Wear them to work with heels and your boss lady bag or on the weekend at the farmer’s market with a tank and Converse.
When going big never forget confidence is key. Own it and put one foot in front of the other and just start moving. You have to start somewhere, the possibilities are endless so don’t hesitate. Get ‘em girl.
