Cat and I have talked many times about how we love pieces of clothing and accessories with meaning. Whether it's an Alex and Ani bracelet that symbolizes something special or a tank top that has a positive workout chant on it, we love promoting our best self in the things we wear. It's a good reminder throughout your day or during your workout to channel positive vibes or simply just make you a little bit happier. And ain't nothing wrong with an extra dose of happiness!
We came across Blooming Lotus Jewelry on Instagram through The Body Book. Their mission is simple, "Let us inspire you to manifest your dreams, fire up your soul and keep your mind focused on where your heart longs to be." Can we say YES loud enough? When it comes to these malas and jewelry we think not! On top of such a great mission, we couldn't be more thrilled to learn that the founder of Blooming Lotus Jewelry is a bomb boss lady, Jennifer Ciraulo. She worked for ten years as a pediatric occupational therapist and although she now does her jewelry line full time, five percent of all proceeds are donated to charities for children who have special needs. Like we said, boss lady!
Cat and I were thrilled when Jennifer sent both of us a mala of our choice. We're sharing just a little bit more about what our malas mean to us and hope you're inspired to find something wearable that's meaningful to you and pushes you to greatness.
LC || Highest Self Mala
Connecting you to your highest self. A colorful reminder to lean toward the light.
This mala rings true for me on a personal level in a few ways. I've decided to take a leap and go back to school this fall. I've regretted for a few years now that I haven't taken advantage of working for a state that will pay for me to get my Masters. Well, enough with the regrets! It's time to start doing. I've applied to begin a part-time Masters of Social Work program with a local college and I couldn't be more thrilled. When I think about connecting to my highest self, this is truly me living that out.
Social work isn't just a profession for me. It's who I am. More education means better opportunities for me in the future and makes me feel like anything is possible. Will it be easy? No. Am I crazy? Yes. With a ton of support both personally and professionally I couldn't be more excited though!
Leaning towards the light is something I've always been driven to do, as a social worker this should come as no surprise. There's a whole lot of darkness in this world and I see it first hand every day. With that darkness comes a great responsibility and it's something I choose to take on and tackle each and every day. It's not always easy, but leaning towards the light is a mission I've had in me since I can remember. This mala reminds me of my deep-rooted desire to live my life so bright that it radiates to those around me and maybe impacts them to shine just a little bit brighter too.
Cat || Dream On
All good things begin with a dream.
I chose to wear the dream on mala to remind myself to never stop dreaming. Until the last few months I never realized I didn't have any big dreams. I was so focused on day to day life and my present circumstance I didn't have a vision for myself. I've taken some time recently to really think about the future I want for myself and I couldn't be more excited about where I'm headed.
My dreams and vision board have a lot more to do with slowing down rather than speeding up. In the past I've always been too busy, working extra shifts at the hospital, running all over town and stretched super thin. My vision for myself involves a lot more prioritizing of my time and putting my efforts on the people and things that are important to me. This involves more family time, making RG all it can be, becoming the best lifestyle coach I can to reach the most people I can, and more lazy days with Daniel. My dream on mala reminds me to keep my dreams close to my heart and never lose focus in this crazy face paced world we live in.
