We've been wanting to do a fav fives post together for quite awhile now. We're so happy to finally share one together today! We're changing things up this go around and instead of sharing five of our favorites things, we're asking each other the same question to share more about what makes us unique, different and all together your average thirty year old!
1. Sushi or tacos?
LC: Although I love sushi, I'm a taco girl all the way. I love Mexican food and usually make some type of tacos, fajitas, burrito bowl, or chips and dip almost weekly. Just ask Nathan, most times when we go out to eat and he asks where I want to go, it's almost always a Mexican style restaurant. I do love me some sushi, but I'd pick tacos any day.
Cat: The struggle. I honestly don't know. There are a couple of really great taco places by me but I think I'd have to say sushi. Honestly, yes, I'm going to say sushi. If I had to pick a nice night out I'd always want sushi and wine. I pretty much love any and all sushi. It's basically the reason I can't be vegan, well that and eggs. I will say the sushi scene in Denver was too legit. If anyone has great suggestions for places to go in Michigan I'm all ears!
2. Which booze do you choose?
Cat: Hands down vodka, specifically Deep Eddy's Grapefruit Vodka. This vodka with soda water and lime is my absolute favorite. When I moved from Denver to Michigan I was worried I wouldn't be able to find it, however, it's made it's way to the Mitten! I know the bars in my town that have it and they sell it at Meijer. Looks like I can stay in Detroit a little longer!
LC: Wine, wine and more wine. I love wine! Red, white, pink, cold, or warm....I'll take it any way. I'll choose dry over sweet any day. I'll also choose red over white most of the time, except for on a hot, summer day when a cold glass of Chardonnay can't be beat. I also love a good, dirty martini or a spicy margarita, but wine is my number one!
3. What does down time look like for you?
LC: Although I don't have much of it these days, with school kicking my butt, down time for me usually involves taking a break from all the things pulling at me in life and being lazy on my couch. Usually my Friday nights are the chance for me to do this. I take a break from school and blog life, I'm off work, and I'm in my pajamas, cooking dinner with Nathan while drinking a glass of red wine. Whether we catch up on a show, or chat about our week, I'm most happy spending time with him and getting re-centered. Other things I love to do to relax is read a good book or put together a puzzle, which I've been pretty obsessed with lately.
Cat: I honestly don't take much "down time." If I do take some free time I love going out! Even if it's something small like walking to my favorite little bar down the street (which I blogged about here) or stopping to get food somewhere new. I love living in a downtown area or going to Detroit to even sit at a coffee shop and be in a different environment. If I really need to unwind or re-center it also usually involves a workout. Combine the two, a workout followed by drinks or food out is probably my favorite way to spend an afternoon!
4. What's your go to outfit?
Cat: I'm torn. Muscle tanks and distressed denim get me every time. I love anything with a little funk so give me distressed denim, bare arms and some big earrings and I'm golden. However, I love, love, love anything one piece as well. I am OBSESSED with pantsuits, overalls, rompers you name it. I love dressing up and going out as much as I love strolling around ton in my black skinnies. Who says you have to choose though!?
LC: I love dressing up and feeling extra sassy on a date night, but most days my go to, favorite outfit includes a lot of basics. I love a good tee, a relaxed fit blazer, comfy booties or my converse, a dark wash pair of jeans and some funky earrings. I'm pretty simple when it comes to my every day clothes. Simple and classic is my favorite!
5. What's one change in 2017 you hope to see in your personal life?
LC: I've lived in an apartment for nine years. To say I'm over apartment living is an understatement. Although our current one has been good to us and we have so many memories in it, Nathan and I have felt the itch to move into a house for some time now. We're currently on the house hunt and super excited to think about all the possibilities that come with owning a home. A new house in 2017 would make me one happy girl!
Cat: I'm already living my dream so I'm just hoping to stay the course. I want to keep rocking 2017 as an entrepreneur! I would love to file my 2017 taxes with only a 1099 and no W-2's from a company. I have lots of business goals, personal fitness goals and fun trips planned. Planning for Isagenix Detroit domination and taking The Be You Campaign on the road. I want to visit the wineries in Traverse City Michigan and I'm going to see Tony Robbins live so 2017 is shaping up to be pretty amazing. I don't know if I've ever been so excited for a new year!
